Fans of Doctor Who will clamor for more from the one legendary creature who rocks out loud, hunts for the Men in Black, and saves his book blogging best friend from the offworld menace that threatens their cozy town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Contrary to every teen paranormal romance you’ve ever read, vampires are not demons or monsters. They aren’t eternally cursed children of the night. They aren’t soulless shape-shifting bats. And they most definitely aren’t bad boys with fluffy hair brooding over the guilt of the kill while seeking the one girl in the entire world who will save them from themselves.
Vampires are, in fact, extraterrestrials. That’s right. Aliens. Offworlders. Take me to your leader, fall from the sky, space invading, phoning home, UFO jockeys. Vampire is a distinct species of extraterrestrial. And by distinct, I mean delicious. I’m an offworlder too. Like vampires feed on humans, my kind feed on vampires. It’s a whole food chain thing. Very sciency.
My kind followed the vampires to Earth centuries ago. Follow the food source—that’s what you’re supposed to do, right? Well, it didn’t work out so well for us. While the vampires thrived, my kind slowly started to die out.
You see, we couldn’t pass for earthlings. Not like the humanoid vampires who live among them unnoticed or charm them into submission with a hypnotic stare. Our red eyes, gray skin, incredible height, and wings were pretty much a dead giveaway.
To earthlings we were the beasts, the monsters, the fallen angels…
Praise for the book
OMG this is one of the best YA books I’ve read in a while. Super fun with vampires AND alien beings (actually, the vampires ARE some of the alien beings which is a really cool idea), this took me just a few hours to read as it was so light and easy. I absolutely loved it!
I have a confession to make. The cover art is why I read this book. I loved the fun graphics. Then I read the blurb and it sounded like a fun misadventure. And it was.
If you are looking for a funny YA with no sex, no foul language, then this story is for you.
Great characters, great plot, great story. A YA novel that is sure to entice young readers into wanting to read more.
